the door rubber . . the originals were very soft and therefore easy to compress . . the aftermarket ones are several times harder.

So he said it runs great because it has a hesitation?

Incorrect float level…set it to 1/2”

floor it HARD from as dead stop and tell us if it hesitates?
.

I just measured it and it is just shy of 3/4". Does that fit with the whole hesitation thing?

you need to lift up on the flosat when you measure it.

it must be 1/2" - 9/16".

3/4" is too low for a ford carb . . if you do not have a ford carb then what do you have?

It looks like it is an Autolite 2100 refurb.

I couldn't find the normal model number stamp on it, this was the only stamp I found.

BTW, is that spring being totally mashed an issue?

.
that carb is much bigger than stock and it is not for your car but it still should work . . get us the main jet sizes . . they are below the float.

remove thsat entire cam . . you can try to fix the spring later or buy a new one.

Looks like there is a lot of dirt in the bowl. The gas itself is clear on the other side of the bowl. This side just has tons of sediment.

Here is a pic of the jet below the float.

I'm not sure exactly how long that carb has been on there but my hunch is that it was one of the repairs my Mom's old delivery guy used to make for her. The guy had a lot of .... connections... If it was the repair I am thinking of then the carb has been on there since about 1990.

One thing is for sure, I don't need to upgrade to a bigger carb. I played with the float a little today but I won't have a chance to test drive for a couple of days. We got about 1/2 inch of snow last night so half the state shut down...
