Default converting a generator to an alternator

I have a 64.5 mustang, 289 4v, 4 speed, ps, pb, and air conditioning. The generator is bad so I am thinking this is the right time to convert to a 1 wire alternator. I know that I will need new brackets but will the pullies line up and will I need to rewire anything

Pullies depends on your specific set up and alternator used. As for wiring, you need to disconnect the factory voltage regulator, 1-wires typically have the regulator built in.

Can I just tape up the wires running from the voltage regulator to the generator or do I need to remove them?

There are 3 wires that run from the solenoid to the generator, if I tape them up do I need to do anything to the voltage regulator?

My mustang has the big voltage regulator next to the radiator, the best I can tell there is nothing to unplug. There are some terminals that have wires connected to them, do i just disconnect them and tape them up?

There should be a way to disconnect it.

Default brackets

I finally figured out the wiring to convert my car to an alternator and I bought a set of Mr gasket alternator brackets and I can't figure out how to install them and I see no place for the air conditioning pulley. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you solve it?

Default no power

I finally got the alternator installed after getting the generator brackets modified, I taped up the wires that ran to the generator and ran the one wire from the alternator to the solenoid. I unhooked the biggest wire at the voltage regulator and taped it up and now I have no power, the lights won't come on, nothing. I charged the battery overnight so that's not it, any suggestions would be appreciated.
