Front suspension/steering replacement HELP
I found out today that I need new tie rod ends, new wheel bearings, and a new idler arm on my 66 mustang (6 cylinder manual steering).
I found a kit on cjponyparts that has the upper/lower control arms, tie rod ends inner and outer, and some other stuff, here is the link:
http://www.cjponyparts.com/starter-f...1966/p/SUSK40/
Then I just found the bearing and idler arms separate. The total would be $415.
does anybody have any instructions on how to do the tie rod ends and idler arm? I assume the upper and lower control arms will be pretty straight forward (I have done suspension before on other cars). But, I talked with cjponyparts and one guy said getting the tie rods to where they should be might be tricky so if anybody has any instructions on how to remove and install these things, that would be greatly appreciated.

If the car has original brakes, tie rod ends are just separate and then unscrew after you loosen the clamps. If the brakes have been changed using Granada parts you need adapters as the taper is different. Same with Ball Joints. Upper and lower arms are normal except that the 66 and earlier used shims for alignment and the 67 and later had an eccentric. Getting the springs compressed is rather dangerous unless you have the correct compressor that goes inside the spring, not the clamps people use on McPherson struts. Might as well change the spring seats and location arm bushings along with shocks. That kit seems to have it all.
