si i decided to stick with the T5. i am looking at two different suppliers. Mostly thanks to this site.

the first on is the Astro performance 485ft.lbs. of torque unit. Their price is $2395.00 plus delivery

then the next one is the Promotion Powertrain
NEW 295SHD T5 83-93....$1,650.00__405HP

the promotion powertrain is cheaper but the Astro performance seems to be a lot stronger. I am going to call them both toaday and decide which way i want to go.

I do not race the car. i have wanted to autocross it which i think either one will be okay for that. I do not think though that the cheaper of the two will hold up to a quarter mile run.

TKO 500 or 600 (depending on what gear ratio selections you want) with shift upgrades, or a Magnum T-56. The CF blocker ring upgrades will make it shift like butter.

This is where I got mine:

Their blocker rings made my TKO 600 practically want to fall into gear.

Shift issues with TKO's are almost entirely installation issues. They have heavy gear internals like the old Toploaders did (they're basically a Toploader with an OD and aluminum case mechanically), so there is extra inertia in the gears and it makes them more sensitive to other issues. Nearly every TKO shift issue is either a bellhousing misalignment (they're pretty sensitive to that), crappy shifter, or a clutch disc not moving freely on the shaft during disengagement.

If you install it right and use CF blocker rings, you'll have 0 shift issues. You also won't have to change everything else needed to put an AT in the car. Otherwise, I don't really have much in the way of recommendations for AT's...AOD probably?
