Thought Carfax works only for cars since 1981?

Ok I guess it's also no legitimate reason if my dealer told me that the car was always in CA and never had an accident and only a few owner (without any proof) and I want to check this now, right? So the only way is to know somebody. Maybe the liaison officer in my barracks knows somebody. Hope dies last.
