Default Holley Carb float level

I have adjusted my Holley carb float as low as I can, but the level in the fuel bowl is still too high. When I remove the sight screw, gas just flows out of the hole. Also, gas flows out of the throttle linkage after shutting the engine off. The seat seem to be working fine, Can the float be bottomed out? How do I fix it if it is? Can the seat be leaking. I haven't changed the seat or the small o ring gasket on the present one.

Could be. I was trying to exhaust all other potential problems before pulling the bowl off

when did this start occurring so that you felt you needed to adjust floats?
I'm guessing that it ran fine then fuel started to leak out so you went to adjust float height??

If thats the case then its not a float height problem but rather a stuck or worn inlet needed. If the carb is a few years old buy some new Holley needles and seats its an easy replacement.
The float could have cracked and filled with fuel as well but this is very unlikley compared to a simply stuck needle.
Make sure you are running a fuel filter as well

Yep. Bet dimes to doughnuts you got some junk stuck under one of your needles.

4 5/16" screws and the bowl comes right off. Set the float visually very low. Reinstall and slowly adjust it up until it's right. Clean it out and use new Vinton tipped needle. Use new bowl and screw gaskets and have a new screw adjusting bolt gasket on hand, too. 15 minutes tops.
