Default 67 disk/ t5 conversions

Good Afternoon , I just purchased a 67 coupe. orginally 6cyl but now has a 302 and think not sure how to tell. what year or if it's a 289. so I honestly dont know where to start or what to do. I use to be a general mechanic for about 2yrs so I have a good idea and knowledge and I been reading around and cant seem to find an answer. I want to convert from drum to disk brakes , I have a few pick and pulls around me but not sure which cars will bolt on . I read that a granada 77-79 will .but is there anymore cars? rumor is aerostar/ rangers/ explorers/ and 79+ mustangs front disk will work? does anyone know of this is true ?

also I picked up a t5 from a 98 V6 mustang. anyone know what kind of mods or flywheel / clucht il need. and I've heard I can get the read end out of a 95-99 explorer is this true as well?

You'll want to be careful on how much you beat on that T5, the V6 and 4cyl T5s aren't as strong as the V8s.

Default 67 disk conversion

I have good news for the disk conversion....even if it was an origonal six cylinder, the front spindles are the same as a v8. Any kit for a 67 v8 will work for the six CYL spindles. Don't forget to plan on bigger wheels so you can get larger rotors.
As for t5 swap, I would recommend getting with a company that can set you up with all you need. They can even tell you if the tranny you have is a good option. I have used MODERN DRIVELINE, very helpfull! Clutch info and all.
If it was a six, you will defenatly was a new rear end.
looks like a good car!!

i did the explorer rear end swap, you will needto get a second passenger side axle. you cut about 2 inches out of the tube and weld it back together and install the passenger side axle into the newly cut down drivers side.with the disc swap, i recommend doing the 2004 mustang cobra breaks. you can use you spindles and piece them together or buy a kit. i pieced mine together. I also haave a custom built t5 from a company in florida. cant remember the name. i had to go that route after i grenaded 3 other t5s. they work okay but if you build up the engine at all, you will need to build a t5 as well
