Default Vibration from drivetrain

Hi folks,

so I have recently purchased a 1965 Mustang and have a number of things on my list to fix.

Firstly - when driving I’m getting a fair amount of vibration with a frequency that changes with speed. Sort of like a zzz zzz zzz zzz, I can also feel it in the transmission tunnel if I put my hand on it. It has a manual tremek 5 speed with a 9” diff If that helps.

Would anyone have a stage by stage list of things to check to work through what the issue could be? Im hoping it’s an easy fix!

Thanks in advance!

It very well could be the slip yoke and the tail shaft bushing.

From under the car press up and down on the U joint at the transmission. Do you see the yoke move up and down and can you hear it? if yes how much. If its enough to easliy see and hear. replace: The yoke, The bushing, and the U joints.
