Unhappy '66 Mustang accelerator/linkage not moving

Looking for advice.. Please.. Grr. I have a ’66 mustang 200 6cyl with automatic transmission (C4 I think?). Had it 10 years but was in an accident 5 years ago and has been garaged since. It was still running/driving fine after the accident. I’ve been working on the body & starting once in a while, but not driven. I noticed today just before starting I wasn’t able to push down the accelerator pedal (haven’t started in almost a year). I looked underneath to see the kickdown linkage (I think it’s called) attaching the tranny/accelerator seemed like it wasn’t allowing the pedal to move (maybe ½ inch at best). Tried many times, shifting in/out of park, turning driveshaft, attempting to move the linkage at the tranny by hand, but no luck. Again, grr, frustrating. Thanks, Rob

what happens if you disconnect it from the carb. maybe the throttle plates are stuck shut.

I could give that a try. I haven't really inspected anywhere else along the linkage going to, or at the carb. I just notice when the gas pedal is depressed (which maybe is only 1/2 inch), I see that small cable from the 1st part of accelerator to the tranny/kickdown tighten up, not allowing the pedal to go down any further. I will give other areas a look though. Thanks Gun Jam!
