Default ignition switch problem

I was removing the dash piece holding all the gauges and speedometer on my 1970 Mustang. As I was pulling the dash piece out I bumped the ignition switch on the steering column. There was a pop noise and now my key won't turn all the way back in order to remove it from the key cylinder. I have checked it all gears and it won't move all the way back. I loosened the switch on the column to see if I could work the key all the way back but that didn't work either. I've checked the fuses in the fuse box and nothing is burnt out. The car still starts in park and neutral only but when I shut it off it still won't let me remove the key. Any ideas on what I screwed up when I was pulling the dash piece out?
