Ignition wire mess

The old pink wire was the ballast resistor wire to the coil for reduced voltage in "Run". The points and condenser don't last very long on 12 volts. Where the old pink wire connected to the ignition switch is where you want to tie in the blue wire, I believe that is position #3 on your picture. It still would be good to verify that whatever you tie it in to, that it only has 12 volts when the key (ignition) is in the "Run" position.

I gave up on trying to figure out where the blue goes and just followed the diagram. A few changes here and there and it started / and better yet stayed running with the first crank.

Thanks for all the help.
Let’s hope for a nice fall.
