Default tire in trunk

I'm getting the trunk in my fastback upholstered and adding a spare. A 17" wheel will not fit so I bought a 15" Boyd Coddington Smoothie in 15 x 6. Does anyone know what size tire will actually fit into the trunk? I was thinking of a 205/75R15. I The size really doesn't matter since it won't fit onto my car with the BAER brakes but I'm trying to get a size that will look decent in case anyone wants to throw it onto their car to see if they like them. Just curious. Thanks in advance.

?? What do you mean by "a 17 inch will not fit" can you elaborate?

I personally haven't tried to put my 17x8 with a 275 40 17 in the truck of my 65 FB yet so I am interested??

It may actually fit into the trunk but it will not fit in the stock location. It's too wide and hits the trapdoor. I actually took a 205/75R15 home and test fitted it and it will fit but it's a little tight. I'm probably just going to go with a 195/75R15 since it fit pretty well. Hope this answers what you were asking.

I don't have a 65-66 but in my 73 a 205/75R14 fits tight.

I don't have a 65-66 but in my 73 a 205/75R14 fits tight. And that trunk is smaller than a 65-66.

Just curious, do you want to put a spare tire in a trunk which won't ever be used?
