Default Need a tip on welding up emblem holes

HI all,
I'm doing a resto mod on my stang to a GT. Some of the emblems need to be removed. I will end up with holes. I am leaning towards using rivets to fill the holes then welding them in. I was wondering what type of welder to weld them in. This is the only welding I will do on the car so I would like to keep the cost to a minimum. Any other suggestions on filling holes would be appreciated!
Thanks, Walt

I saw some copper backing plates in an Eastwood catalog for holding behind the hole so you could weld it shut. I think the idea was the weld wont stick to copper and would let you weld the hole shut without rivits or such

Use a mig welder and set it to it's coldest setting but still strike an arc so that it won't burn out the holes bigger.

remove paint about 1 inch in all direstions tap hole with a ballpeen hammer to slightly dimple the area buy some fiberglass mat/resin extend the repair area about 1 inch beyond the hole were u removed the paint (a dollar paint brush works great) let dry sand the area to get any high areas down finish with a skim coat of body filler prime and your finished
