Default troubles... again

alright im calling for the help of all the guys with the experience of the inderds of a 66. I got a problem ,well i think its 2 problems myself, the story starts off with me getting a new alt because the bearing was gone in the original and a few days later it starts to act up funny sound coming from under the hood and the amp meter in the car was charging off the chart so i took it as a falty alternator. I took it back and got a better quality on in its place tossed in a new airfilter and was set only now its acting up again. Im just gunna list out everything its doign in hopes someone has run into this problem before and help or someone whos just that good with mustangs can help me out. 1 The amp meter is now pointing to the D ( before it was all the way to the C) 2 head lights are very dim 3 turn signals bearly work if at all, they go on and off when they feel like it, 4 my cd deck turns off and on ramdomly and 5 its stalling at lights now i kinda think this is a seperate problem cuz i can't think of nething that stalling would havin in common with everything else.

Did you also replace the voltage regulator when you replaced the alternator? If not, that's your next purchase. Also, double check the connections from the battery to the starter relay and the ground. Make sure they are clean.

From what I have been told about these cars is when you replace the alt you shoudl go ahead and do the regulator as well. Since it is external and is in line with the alt, ggod chance it is bad. Certainly sounds like it based on your discription.
Good Luck and keep us posted

Mine stalls all the time @ lights, sometimes if I let my foot off of the gas in traffic. I posted on the "Found on Road Dead" thread. I had about 16,500 miles on mine when it started. I have 18,000 now.

I do not have any of the electrical problems you have.

Good luck.
