yup. https://mustangforums.com/m_842874/tm.htm

The top pic is a Cleveland, the bottom pic is a Windsor head. Look at the exauhst ports, and also a Windsor will have a cast aluminum timing chain cover where a Cleveland has a steel plate.

Can you post some pics of it? I have a soft spot for the big mustangs..

I dont have any pictures yet. I just bought the car right before christmas and havent had time to go get it. I got it for $400 bucks. The body is in excellent shape other than a few little patches of rust in the trunk. The motor runs good but the car doesnt have a gas tank. so im pretty happy with my purchase. Its orange with like a black stripe, its got a 351 engine and an automatic trans. Ill psot some pics soon!

Clevland engines have 8 valve cover bolts and Winsor engines have 6.

To answer your question... No Ford never put a 351 W in the 71-73 Mustang line. No way, no how. They did use the 302 as well as the 351 C in 2V and 4V configurations. The fifth digit of you vin should tell the story. When reading the vin the first letter will always be a cursive F meaning it's a Ford product. The next number is the year 1 = 71 , 2 = 72 , 3=73 etc... The next letter is the assembly plant where it was built. The next two numbers are the body code 05= Mach 1 . The next letter is the magic tell ; F = 302 2V ( there was no 302 4V ) , H = 351C 2V , M = 351C 4V in 1971 , Q = 351C 4V in 72-73 , R = Boss 351C. If your car has an R call me and lets talk ! Hope this helps.

One last thing...there were a ton of cars that got the Mach 1 style " hockey stripes " down the sides. This does not make them a Mach 1. Mach 1's have a tach, sway bars front and rear , a single chrome bar in each of the front seats , honeycomb tail light panel , disc brakes etc... the real key is the vin number section of 05.
