Default Tach Drive for a 67

I have just purcahsed a 67 fastback which Im slowly putting back to a restomod state, it has a 289 with a C4. I'm having a problem getting a good signal for the tach from the dual point distributor, the problem is that I have a standard tachometer which does not work correctly with a dual point dizzy, is there a device readily available which I can put in line from the coil signal wire to the tach so it can read correctly.
The distributor is a lead and lag setup so it does not provide a straight pulse, that is, the timing intervals are different so even if you connect a tach the reading moves up and down, it is not reading a constant 2x over the RPM. Besides removing a set of points and converting it to a single trigger setup is there any other alternative. I have checked on the Accel web site and as the distributor is over 10years old there is no information for it, if it helps its a mechanical advance unit.

Thanks
