Yes, Stock is somewhere in the 30's. I have the ignitor 2 and Flamethrower 2 coil with 45,000 volts. With that power, you can gap out the plugs that far, the only downside is, The plugs wont last quite as long like that.

i have the flamethrower 2 coil in mine, and it came with that little piece of paper and said i could set plug gaps further than stock, so i just set mine to 40 and i didnt really see any difference, maybe smoothed out the idel a tad, but im afraid to go any further than that[]

don't forget mallory which makes a nice piece and is cheaper than MSD.. you'll like the easier starts and crisp throttle responce...also a low resist plug wire will help

I have had the pertronix. Great system made a difference in the car. I have the MSD now. If you stay stock pertronix is great. My stock distributor could not handle the HP that I have, 400+, so I ended up shearing the shear pin that holds the gear and meshes with the cam. I went with the MSD for that reason.

I doubt I will ever be pushing 400 hp with this car so i think i will stick with the pertronix
