Default Reverse Fan.

Hi Guys.
As you might seen I was just about buying a flex a lite fan for my 65 stang. Well.... I did.

Anyhow, the problem is that I`ve bought it through the e-bay and the part that I missed is that these fans fits to a reverse water pump. which I dont have. I`ve also undersatnd that If I would have an A/C I woulld be able to connect it also. ( which I dont have..)

Anyone with an idea ? I really needs help here.. Is it really possible to connect these fan only with an A/C on ? or maybe it does not fit to the 65 ?

Thanks in advance !
Eran.

The A/C shouldn't affect the fan, that just means if you had AC it would work. The fan might work on your car, but if the blades are tilted the other way, it wouldn't be pulling the air, it'd be pushing it. IF i remember your other posts right, I really dont think you need that fan. Your temps are pretty normal for these cars.

Hi
Thanks for the quick reply...

Anyway, I know my temps are quite okay but I`m not totaly okay with that and I`ve decided to give this fan a try...

Do you know anyway I could install it ?

Thanks.

I really cant tell, since i dont know exactly what kind of fan it is. If it's for a engine, thats rotation is reversed(if that is possible) then it probably wouldn't work. It'd be worse then what you have now.

I'm a little confused. Perhaps I need to go back and read your previous posts. But why are you not happy if your car's temps are normal? You need to be up in that normal range for proper operating.

Do you have a shroud? Have you tried Water Wetter? Have you backflushed your entire cooling system (not just the radiator)? What size and how old is that radiator to begin with? If you're running too hot, adding more fan blades may mask the problem, but it won't fix it.

What temps are you typically running at?

Hi there...

Well the thing is that..My stang is 65 and it runs on 185 usally and when it gets there it doesnt go down.
I dont like using all of these flushing thing because I have bad experince with them..once I put them and the moment I`ve put them all the leaks became...

I want to cool down my engine a bit so the electric will not work all the time and I thought maybe this Flex-Alite fan will do the job. The thing is that on very hot days it can goes almost to 200 dgree and the I dont like.

Thanks !
Eran.

That's probably because you have a 185 degree thermostat and it's working as it should! Your engine needs to operate in this temperature range.

But that's no reflection on the flushing products. That just indicates you needed new gaskets! Don't "Band-Aid" a problem by avoiding it. If your gaskets are worn, then replace them. Backflushing your cooling system is necessary maintenance. It doesn't harm an engine; it prolongs its life.

I agree with Dan, flushing your system IMO should be done every year, especially if the car sits for an extended period of time. I have said in the past, ive had very good luck with greased lightning blue ice in my car, and i have seen a very noticalble decrease in engine temps. but flush the system, if i were you take the rad. out and take it to a rad. shop and have them throw a extra row in it.

you should be happy with a constent temp. it all working fine..you could opt for a pusher electric fan you control or go to a 180 stat such as a hipo mr gasket stat part # 4364
