Default my rust has a mustang problem

here are a couple pictures of my progress thus far. after the floors are gone i gotta take off the cowl cover and mediablast that and the rockers. then it will be time to build everything from the firewall back with 2x3" steel tubing. feel free to comment and share your ideas.

the firewall looks like it just needs a sandblasting, everything up there is still solid. for the floor pan and front frame pieces i got all my replacement parts from cjponyparts.com. it cost me around $800 with shipping. i got the floor kit that has the two long sections for each side. i wasnt going to attempt to use sheetmetal for that, i think the back half of the car will be easy to build once i get it one the flat pavement in my garage.

thanks mustangdemon,
i should have the rest out tomorrow and i can post pics of how the frame and torque boxes are laid out. so far i have been going into it blindly, but now that the floor is pretty much gone it is easy to see how the car is laid out. ive done everything outside so far and it is miserable. i hate winter more than anything.

I got my car in the fall, removed the doors and fenders and the snow started coming down....its terrible here too. Its killing me not to be able to get to work already. Thanks again for providing those pics. Sometimes the best way is to go into it and try it...if it works, great ...if not you learn from your mistakes...either way you learn lol.

Did you do the frame rails? I knew I had some rust when I bought mine but was not expecting the rails.

acadist,
i will be once i finish removing all of the sheet metal in the back. i plan to use 2x3" steel tubing and using a set up like you would see on a tubbed pro street drag car. i figure doing it like this will stiffen up the chassis alot and allow me to use a more modern rear suspension. ill be posting pictures and such as the project continues.
