I have a 65 fastback and I've been woundering if there is a way of tracking owner history, accidents, etc...(similar to carfax). Can the DMV help with this??? Any help would be appreciated thanks[sm=burnout.gif]

you could probably take the vin number to the dmv and they could run a check on it.

I know the it's tough thru the Nevada DMV. Not much info i've found on the older vehicles.

i know here in the great white north, we have a sellers kit that you have to buy when you buy a used car, it tells you the history of the car, you get it from the lisence office if you are the seller by giving then your vin, the run it and it comes out with all the history etc. Do you have anything like that in the states??

Thanks for all the responses, here in NJ the local dmv cant help, they tell me I have to go to a regional HQ or Trenton, the woman at the local dmv also said they may not be able to help. I just don't know if its worth a 3 hour drive (regional hq and or trenton) and not get any answers.

Not too long ago - on another Mustang forum - someone posted his long-lost fastback's VIN. He knew it was a shot in the dark, but he gave it a try. Believe it or not, the current owner of the car saw the post and responded that same day. The car is alive and well and undergoing a complete restoration. Miracles do happen!
