Default mustang undercoating

I was thinkin about what to put underneath my mustang when i get done with it. My dads truck and some of our company work trucks have this spray on bedliner and i think that it would make good under coating for my mustang. This stuff is tougher than nails and it seals out water and stuff. What do you guys think?

It really depends.... Guys put rust inhibitors on the undercarriage but I wouldn't put a undercoating like a bedliner on my car.
My fear would be that it eventually cracks, water does get in there and now I have a rust oven instead of a protective barrier.

If you aren't going to be driving it in bad weather then you won't have much of a rust issue in the future....if it's a daily driver then I'd look at some of the rust inhibitors (POR-15)

well you have to look at ir from this perspective... Spray on bed liners are permanete, to the extent of not ever coming off. Lets just say for now you want to put this stuff on, no problem, however what if 30 yrs down the road you want to go for another full blown resto? That stuff will never come off and you be up a creek. And to boot, if you sell it, what if the person thats buying it doesnt share the same feeling for the underside as you do. Might be a harder car to sell. I do think its a good idea, but in the long run, its kinda gonna be a pain in the ***

That line-x stuff is what i was talking about. Its great stuff and its basically bombproof. We've got it on some of our work trucks and its survived so i think that its worthy of recognition.

I have heard it's great on a pickup. If you NEVER plan on selling it that's great but gta is right... look at it from the buyers point of view. That same line could be used to "hide" problems as much as it could be there to prevent them. Like I said...if you don't drive your car in bad weather then you really won't have much of an issue there.... I also understand your concerns having basically replaced every damn piece of metal on the bottom of my car. I thought about doing something like what you are talking about but in the end decided not to.

I have always thought that the spray in bedliners were a great idea if you've put in the effort to totaly protect the bottom of your car. I'm not sure why you would ever want to remove it for another restoration, it's out of sight, and you never have to worry about rust again.
