73' convertible worth anything?
For some reason the only 71-73 mustangs that i have seen bring much money is the boss 351's and boss 9's. IMO there not worth s@@t becasue there not desirable. The only rare ones they made were the mach 1's with the 429, the boss 351's and the American Spirit editions (or whatever there called) I would range you putting about 30,000 into a top notch resto, and youll be lucky to get 15,000 for it, but if it has nothing really special about it, than lower that number
If its a 351C 4V car then its worth a little more, otherwise right around $15k if its REALLY REALLY nice.. Of course by the time you get it done, things may have changed again, or someone may want a vert and pay anything for it. Some people are wierd like that, just dont count on finding that guy. I hope I make some coin on my 71 when it goes down the road, if I dont then I have a really nice fastback.. So its kinda the same situation, not a Boss or 429 car, so its not really rare.
They didn't build a Boss 429 in 1971... 1969-1970 only. With respect to value, I've got 30,000.00 in the rotisserie restored "Q" code Mach 1 below and I watched one sell for 42K a few months ago. I wouldn't even consider selling my car for 42 thousand dollars , much less the 15,000 figure mentioned above. I guess , " One mans trash is another mans treasure ".
i let it sit for now. it looks even rustier than mine. when my coupe is driveable/major work is done, maybe ill buy it to keep. a convertible would be nice for cruising around in.
thanks for the info guys.
