Hello all I am new to the forum and may not be asking in the correct area. I just had my 1966 in for work, I was having electrical and engine work done. The shop got that part done and said the bill was about $700.00. But then he said the brakes needed to be totally redone, I asked him what he thought for cost and said about $400.00 I said OK. Well I got the bill today and it went from the $700.00 to $2,612.74. When I asked him what happened he said the brakes took over 12 hours to due and they had put 30.5 hours of labor into the work. I think I got taken what do any of you think.

when they exceed a quote, they are supposed to get authorization from you.

I would say U got taken, and yes they were supposed to get your approval b4 going past estimated price.
