With all due respect, this has to be a girl, right? How do you use the defroster? I mean come on! Not a slam just an observation.

No, no, I'm a dude. Well, I mean, there are three little switches, and then a main switch, and they don't necessarilly have labels as to what they do.

Aren't the little knobby duffers engraved with what they do? Been awhile since I've owned a 65-6 but I thought one said temp, one says heat and one says defrost? Dont' take offense it just that I've been doing the stang thing for a long time. Sometimes I assume that new mustangers are still learning.

OK, let's try to put this in simple terms.
You have "Heat", "Temp" and "Def" *****. When you push either of them in the down position, they are activated by a cable that hooks up to the appropriate section. Now, if you want heat only, you push the heat **** all the way down. Depending on how much heat you want will determine how far you push the Temp **** down. The further you push it down, the more hot water runs through your heater core. If you only want defrost, you push the defrost **** all the way down which directs the hot air to the windshield. The top **** is the blower motor speed....the further to the right you push it, the faster the blower motor runs.

Hmm... Thanks, that's what I needed to hear. But, oddly enough, the third switch has "Off" engraved into it. That's why I didn't know how to work the defrost. I also didn't know whether they should be up or down to activate them, so that really helps.

They wont have to change you compressor or anything, all they will do is flush the system, fix any leaks, and put the new freon in

It can get pretty pricey, when they converted my bronco it cost about 600 bucks, but the compressor was bad so they had to put a new one on it and that was the most expiesive thing

No, the third switch has DEF on it, not OFF. Get your glasses on.

Sad thing is? I had my glasses on.

It does say DEF, my bad. [&o]
