Radio area damaged...
Ok, so my radio broke awhile back and I just took it out recently and the previous owner did some damage to it and cut it up a little (don't know why, didn't even cut it where a moder player would fit) now my question is at this point I would have to probably buy one of those plates that you weld in there to replace that area or buy a new dash (if that's even possible)...
So if I already have to do some work on it would I get in trouble with you guys if I just cut it out to where a modern CD player would fit and put one in for the time being then fix it when I start restoring the interior? or should I just leave it as is and mount it under the dash?
Ill get a picture for you guys...
P.S. I do realize that the car is mine and I can do to it as I wish but I dont want to lose the respect of the Mustang camunity.

Brian....I am not sure I understand your question. Are you asking if you can cut out the radio hole to make it bigger to fit in a modern radio? If so......NO... Locate the new CD/Radio player either under the dash or in the glove box.
yeah kind of, the area is damaged already so I wasnt sure if it matterd. (the picture I put up shows the damage) how hard is it to fix the damage done to it alread?
The picture is a little to zoomed in but if it is already to the point where you have to weld in a replacment panel then it wouldnt hurt anything to cut it out a little more for a modern cd player. As long as you dont exceed the size of the panel, it could always be fixed later.
yeah, that's what I was asking is since it is already to the point that I have to repair it then would it hurt to cut it out more to fit a modern CD player for the time being until I start on the interior?
Here is another picture not zoomed in as far.

Ok, that's what I was wondering, I just didn't want to cut it the rest of the way then have everybody hate me for it.
How big are the weld in pieces usually so I know what my boundary's are.

I couldnt find exact dimensions but you can tell from the pictures it would easily cover a cutout for a standard cd player. I found 2 differnet ones. The white one is plastic. I am not sure how that could be attached so it would look good. The other is the standard metal one.
