1968 Mustang
Okay, i found a mustang not that far from here and i think im going to buy it...this lady and her boyfriend moved to vegas recently and left the car behind in south san francisco....they were going to bring it out there but opted to just sell it because they need to put all their money and time into their new house they are building. Its the boyfriends car he got from his parents when he turned 22. They wanted $4500.00 for it....i only had about $3300.00 saved up at the moment....so i told her i would have to pass. She asked how old i was and how long id been looking for a car. I told her 17 and a very long few years or searching....
anyways... she and her boyfriend talked and said they like helping people out and would rather me, a 17 year old, have it over some old guy who can just throw a bunch of money into it right away and sell it or something....so they dropped the price to $3700.00 and said they will hold it til can come up with the difference. I got the rest of the money and hopefully will buy it as soon as one of them can get back here from vegas i guess......
anyways...its a 1968 coupe....
- rebuilt 302 motor with 8000 miles
- 4 barrel carburetor
- horse power pulleys
- jba headers
- new front sway bar
- disc front brakes
- new radiator
- new fan
- clean interior (except for a rip on the ceiling)
- has original black license plate
- custom body work already done (took out reflectors at rear fendors as well as side grills)
- primered
- no rust
what do you guys think about it?? good deal??? looks like it needs paint and rims to make it decently pretty....good project??? i like the fact it has front disc, the rebuild, clean interior, black license plates and no rust....anyways...tell me what you think...
heres some pics too.....

wow are you serious?? i figured they were just some junk wheels they found to put on when it gets sprayed with primer/paint.....
do they have value at all or prob not...? would me be nice to offset the price of new ones.....
if they are deluxe rims....would the car have to come with deluxe interior too? making the rims not original?

The rims are an option and you could get them on just about anything with 5 lugs. It looks like a pretty good deal as long as you are not going for original. Word of caution though, all these old mustangs have some rust and always have hidden bondo. I'm not saying this is a rust or bondo bucket I'm just saying if you think this is a perfect body car you might be suprized. Looks like they deleted the quarter reflector, the quarter trim and all of the side emblems. A lot of times this is done with bondo. Still looks like a pretty good deal.

yeah definitely dont want original.....the guy had wanted to get rid of the reflectors and stuff even before he got the car and it was done at a body shop im pretty sure....either way i think its pretty good.....will look better with some torque thrust's and glossy black paint....

And as already stated - those wheels are correct for your car regardless of its other options. In the Mustang family, they're also correct for the 1969 GT and Mach I. Shine up the chrome parts and repaint the black outer rims, and you may get a couple hundred for them. They aren't rare or highly collectable - just correct for your car.
A black paint job will last 23 seconds before you have to wipe off the dust to make it look great again. Plus, it will heat up the interior like a son-of-a-gun during the summer. Not to mention what Dan has already said. If you get those wheels back to original condition, and paint it a correct 68 color (lighter than black) you would have a very nice looking period correct Mustang, worth much more than a restomod.
