help quick, what engine is this?
ok i just picked up an engine for $300. guy says he rebuilt it for someone 15 years ago but they never showed up to pick it up. it's been in his garage ever since. it's a 289 for sure, but i'd like to find out more information about it. i've been doing some research but i can't really find what i'm looking for.
the block itself is stamped with: 0 C5AE-6015E
next to the rockers it has 289 stamped in there, w/ 1 dot above it.
both heads have a C with an F in them, cleveland i'm guessing?
heads also have a 66 in them, one has 5J2, other 5J14.
block and heads have a circle w/ numbers around it showing 13578(9). it looks like an 8 on the block and 1 head, other head it looks like a 9.
are there any other numbers that i need to go look for to help yall tell me what this is?

well i know it's a 289, but that's all i know. the 5J## stamped into the heads mean it's from 65, but how can i determine if it's a code? c code? k code?
hmm, i dont know anything about the Codes on any part of the engine. If it has an intake and carb, is it a 2v or 4v?? OHHHHHH i just thought of something. On a K code head the rocker arms screw in, on a regular C or A code head, they are pressed in. Hope this helps.
