Stock manual tranny?
Let's face it - more early Mustangs came with automatics than manuals. Americans (to this day) did and do drive more automatics. The performance minded went for the manuals. When Shelby built his cars for performance, he went with Toploader which to this day is used in NASCAR. But original manual tranny early Mustangs are hard to find - far fewer were sold. But again, it all comes down to which you want to drive.
i dont know that manuals in old mustangs are all that rare (definitely more so than an auto) but they are probably more so in cars that are restored or owned by someone who isnt selling it as opposed to the dime a dozen C4 cars which are bought and sold all the time.
So basicly it would be better to stick a t5 in there unless it comes stock with the 3-4 speeder?
And if I remember right, it was about 2500 to do that? I'm looking to convert this car to something that I can get around with, and take it out to the track on the weekends and put some speeds out
