'67 Fastback's future
Hi everyone,
My car is a 1967 Fastback, 7R02T...Basically, a stock I6 3spd manual car. The car needs restoration, which will be my first project when I graduate college next year. I love the way fastbacks look, and I'm not very concerned with how the car performs. My biggest concern is preserving the car and improving its value. As it sits, its equipped with a 2bbl 302, rebuilt C4 auto, and fugly blue paint. ( I like blue...Just not when its flaking off) My question is, should I restore it to stock (as much as possible) or keep the 302 and C4? I intend to drive the car, but it won't be a daily driver, so, like I said, horsepower is of little importance. Thanks for your thoughts and comments.

'67 fastbacks are good looking - if you like the car and want to spiff it up, that's the point of the whole journey. As to drivetrain, gotta do to it what you want, don't worry about others unless you want to go concours. Does it just need paint or a lot of body work too? Have to weigh the cost against your desire to redo the car - it's a labor of love and only you can make the final decision. Fastbacks are appreciating rapidly as supply dwindles and demand increases. May be a good investment.
