Default stuck heater switch

All of a sudden, my upper heater switch (the one that says Off -> Heat -> Defrost) got stuck and would only move to the left (towards Off). I pulled the heater controls out far enough to spray in some WD-40, but that didnt work. Also, reaching in behind the switch and moving it from back there allowed me to move it pretty close to the Heat marker. This car is my daily driver, so I kinda need heat and defrost. Help!

Might be the cable? And not the lever, I'd look into the cable that goes from the lever to the heater box or maybe its the plenum. It could be stuck!

Take out the ash tray and see if you can get to the two nuts that are holding the controls to the dash. If not, then the gauge pod will have to be removed. With the controls out of the dash, you can see if the cable is bent or broken or just rusty.
