a basic vert question
whats the difference between coupes and convertible? did convertibles get anything coupes didnt? do they have headliner when the tops up? basically anything about them. Hopefully Ill be getting a 94 GT vert soon.A red mustang convertible...every teenage guys perfect car
Verts have added subframes to stiffen the chassis to make up for the lack of a ridgid top. Because of that & the top itself, verts weight approx 150lbs more than coupes. Some coupe owners would have you think that's a massive performance boat anchor
but it's no big deal in weight.
Another thing verts have is the rear side windows roll up/down obviously & coupes don't.
Yep the vert top has an insulated headliner. In fact when my top is up the inside looks just like a hardtop car.
IMHO verts rock! There just is NO substitute for dropping the top on a nice summers day or night [8D]

thats not as much as i expected..but i guess the fact that coupes and verts are so alike makes it cheaper to produce
exactly! this is why my next ones a vert....well, that and the insurance is cheaper then a coupe(still workin on why, not that i mind!)

you get sub frame conectors and the fun factor
i had a choice between a 6 shooter vert and a GT coupe, test drive was on a sunny 70* day, got the vert and havnet looked back

You also get some fun factors like some increased maint issues, but they are nothing that wouldn't outweigh the benifits of owning a vert. And once you get one you will always want to own one. You also have some additional saftery requirements to think about if you are running the car at the track (Roll bar, helmets). But all in all well worth it.
