There are more crimes in Canada and England which are "hot burglaries" (which are when a person is at home when the person breaks in) were in the US only 13% of all burglaries are hot burglaries. This shows that criminals are afraid of citizens in the US because they could be armed. Mostarmed citizens that are going to get muged or burglarized just need to show the weapon and not fire it to deture the criminal. I would suggest reading a book called "More Guns Less Crime" by John R. Lott, Jr. it will change the way you look at gun control laws and the beauty of being able to carry a gun knowing that you are safe.

Back to the actual topic, I leave mine down if it's nice and sunny with no clouds in the sky, that's the biggest one for me, I don't like wet interiors
I'll also put it up overnight, every night, and if I'm going to be away from it for extended periods of time (at work for 8 hours for example).
Depends on the weather, I leave the top down in nice weather most of the time. If I have a long way to drive and it's cold in the morning, I am wimpy and put the top up and then put it down in the afternoon. I have two convertibles, an '83 380 sl which has a manual top and the '95 mustang Gtwith the power top. Both are fair weather cars. I drive a Yukon during the winter.

Yeah no joke. I don't have a vert but I wouldn't even leave my windows cracked to walk right in and out of a place.

Yeah, the local gas satation owner loves us a lot! We have 10 cars and they all have V-8's one the other hand, the cheapest car to drive is one you own outright. I can't save enough on gas to justify car payments.
Along this same topic.. I also make it a policy to NOT raise/lower to top too many times in the same day, so as not to wear it out prematurly. Meaning, if I'm gonna go on a 10-20 minute drive & know I'm gonna park with the top up when I get "there" then I won't bother lowering it before I leave..
not sure how much that matters,, but over the course of a few years I'd think it helps to not work the top too much in the same day

to an experienced theif a mustang is a piece of cake to steal, even an 03 or newer. My sisters manager just had her 06 honda minivan stolen out of her driveway last week....
