I never have any problems with noise. Also you can adjust how tight they are. Make the latches a little tighter and no problem. The car doesnt get as hot because vinyl doesnt get as hot as metal. It's actually surprisingly warm during winter. The only bad thing about verts is that the blind spots are HUGE!!! and keeping it clean can be a pain

Don't forget that there is an aftermarket hardtop available for that year of Stang so if you're really worried buy the hardtop & lift it on when you hit the end of fall.

That being said I ran an MG Midget all year round in the UK & so long as you have a healthy heater you'll never be too cold in a vert. The late model Mustang tops are all insulated which manages sound & heat levels pretty well.

As for only dropping the top a few times a year.......unless she is one of those people that complains when it's too hot or too cold then she'll probably have the top down more often than it's up. Top is for parking only IMO.
