fmrp "c" springs

i've got an 86 gt vert with fmrp " c " springs. had them for 20 yrs, but i've been told you can't run these on a vert. haven't been told why, and they work great on my car. can anyone explain? plus... what is a 4-eye vert?

vert=convertible
