Yes, it is hard to believe, but most of the sub/boxes/ampsc around here are mismatched.. Everyone goes for size and/or looks, never what speaker specs demand... So it is very possible to out "power" a 1kw system, , with a properly designed speaker box and speaker.

All the ricer cars around here have Box Box store bought generic crap. Most don't realize if they invested about half on a custom box, they would get a much better end result.

all i know is a bought my L7's and read the spec capacity of the box in inches. i built the box and through a 1k watt amp on it and it sounds great. i don't know if it would sound just as good with a 250 watt amp. i don't have any laying around so i don't know

i have 140 watts going to my components and u cant hear any bass outside even when i turn the crossover off...
