Default Replacing a 1/4 window on NuEdge Stang

Ok some low-life smashed the passenger rear 1/4 window on my '02 vert

How hard is it to replace this glass? Has anyone tried? Do you need to remove the inner panels to do the swap?

You need to remove the interior panels to access the bolts that hold on the rear sail panel and window. be careful when you remove the sail panel as it is attached to the front portion with a small screw. Where are you located as I extra 1/4 windows and they are roughly $486 each from the dealership--yes that is the price they quoted me 5 yrs ago when I replaced me

Well the 1st glass shop I called quoted me a figure of one THOUSAND freakin DOLLARS for a factory Ford 1/4 window !!*&^%%!! and he said there is no aftermarket company making one

Soo I've been calling around a few junkyards and I think I lined up a used one for $150,, that I can handle!

The dealer also said there is a ton of work to install the glass & was gonna charge $400 for labor.. I'm sniffing something pretty stinky going on there, so I'm gonna try to install it myself. He said the seat & interior panels & a bunch more stuff gotta come out. Sound right?

Not entirely sure about the verts, but I do know the interior trim panel needs to come out. If you have any mechanical skill and some basic tools it should be fairly simple though, as they install them on the assembly line under 5 min with the veh moving, so you should be able to do it in a day with the car still. You may want to pull the back seat out to give you more room.

Well I got the 1/4 window in after about 2 hours work.. it wasn't so hard after all. Once I got the speaker box out of the way there is a plastic panel glued in place that I guess is a dust shield. Behind that was access to the 3 bolts that holds the window. Nadda problem

Glad you fixed it. hardest part about replacing them is figuring out how the interior panels are attached and removing them without breaking off the tabs.

Actually the hardest part of the job was trying to get the rear seat bottom out I couldn't figure out how the tabs worked but eventually did.
