Default 2007 GT convertible top w "tread separation"

Yah, I know. Tread separation happens in tires. But it gets right to the point of what's happening with my top. Here's my sad, sad story...

I went thru a drive thru car wash and when I was going thru the air dry blower post-wash, all he!! broke loose back by the rear window. The window is now inset from the top by a good inch. I can stick my arm thru the top into the framework from either side.

So I just got back from the dealership where they tell me they can't fix it but have a guy that can. This is just really annoying until he says this: "BTW, it wasn't the car wash. This just happens to Mustangs with this top design. I've done alot of them."

Anyone else have this problem? TIA

Redbird: The Guy at the dealership was right. This is a common problem for the new body style Mustang. Also happens to the Audi, Chrysler Sebring, VW New Beetle, etc.

I have to install a Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder next week that the back window fell out of.

Didn't have a thing to do with a car wash.

i do trim work for a local ford dealership for years and have installed many of these tops for them because of this reason , it is not just a ford issue , all tops have this problem. there is a company called gahh that offers a top with a life time guarantee on the rear window. the top for your car isnt cheep, take it to a shop with a good rep in your area, and tell them you want a GAHH top with the ultra max window !
