Default Rear view mirror replacement problem

I recently replaced the rear view mirror in my 1994 mustang convertable due to the mirror being cracked. The map lights will not turn off on the new mirror. I can plug the old mirror back in and the lights work fine. Is it safe to assume that I got a defective mirror or is there another reason that would cause the lights to stay on, on the new mirror?

Sounds like the contacts in the new mirror are stuck. Was it a new OEM mirror from Ford or a neused junk yard one?

It's a used mirror I bought off of ebay but it's exactly like the one that's in it.
