Rear Window

Rear Window
Saw a post where someone was concerned about the dryer in a car wash blowing out or damaging the rear window of his convertible.
Is this a possibility/probability? Has it ever happened to anyone here?

I've had 2 Mustang convertibles (2006 and 20013) in the frozen tundra of SE Michigan so have had to run through the car wash. No problems at all and I daily drove the cars so in the winter it was at least once a week through the wash to get the salt off.

swodo,
Damage to the convertible top and/or glass back window on your Mustang frequently involves installation of a new top cover. This is almost never inexpensive. Prices run installed, $1500 to $2200 depending on your area of the country.
If you need to use a car wash, don't use the ones with a heavy barrel bristle brush, instead try to use the ones with hanging rags.
Good luck.

Generally that is so true. However, twice this year we were colder than the North pole and colder than any place in Alaska. It was a great week to be a plumber since they build all their houses with pipes out of the ground into the side of the house vs in ground like every where else in the world. I feel your pain as we lived in Kansas 9 years. I hope the car washes have settings for convertibles.

If it does manage to blow out the window however you have to replace the entire top. The window is not separate from the top.
