Default Top not working.

Hello I have a 2000 convertible mustang and the top doesn’t move when I try to lower it or higher it. It does not make a sound when I hit the switch. I know the E brake doesn’t work but I still pull it up. Any idea on how I can get this fixed?

Alex - Some Mustang convertibles (I can't remember what year models) you need to pull the ebrake. This activates a switch that is connected to the ebrake it also allows the convertible top motor to start working.

Your model might be one of these - it is common for these switches to wear out and needs to be replaced so that it can send the signal to the motor.

When you pull the emergency brake do you hear the top motor whirring?
