Default Bumper Inserts......

Hey guys......My black '02 GT has light gray rear bumper inserts.........I want to put red inserts there.......How do I remove the gray inserts without hurting the bumper or can I just put the red ones over the gray?

If you could, try to peel them off and use a goo gone or something to get rid of the sticker residue, u can probably get away with just sticking the new ones over em if ur really good and making sure u cover the grey ones completly

I hate to bring back an old post but im going to install my bumper inserts soon. These are the ones I have. http://www.mustangtuning.com/muststbuinle.html

I was wondering did you guys take off the stock vinyl ones or put the stainless steel ones over the black ones? Also is the 3m tape that is on the back of them strong enough to hold them on or should I put some glue or something else on the back as well?

Some of them must have. Here is a picture of my car. It came with the black vinyl ones already on. I bought it used but the original owner was a friend of mine and he didnt put them on. So anyways can anyone answer my question above? Im probably gona try and take the vinyl ones off but is the 3m tape good enough or not?

the vinyl ones shouldnt be that hard to get off, just heat them up with a hair dryer or something and they should just peel right off. The 3m tape that comes on the back of them will definatley hold them there. I have had the stainless ones on my car for about a year and a half and have had no problems. Just make sure that when you go to put them on, clean the paint with alcohol and make sure you have the letters where you want them when they hit the paint because they will stick. here is a pic of mine installed.
