Pricing will vary from shop to shop. There really isn't a standard. Full repaints are tough. If you're truly bored, then just sell the car and buy a black one.

Another question.. And this may be a stupid one, but is there any way I can get like a coat of that metal flake that some people have so it will sparkle more??

 

Metal flake is in the paint. It's not a separate coat that is just applied.

 

HEY!!!!!!!!!!!!.....wtf.....keep those kinds of opinions to yourself!.....actually i like my red...for red...but i will repaint it a different color if i do the engine swap...at that time i will gut the interior and paint the whole car....i'm not saying what color because it is very unique...but tasteful...not pink or purple or no BS like that...you guys will see....and be amazed....and it is not chameleon or flames or 2 tone or any BS like that

 

britt...isn't there a way to add a tinted/pearled clear coat?....i know my color (laser red) came with a tinted clearcoat from the factory...which is why in some light it kinda looks purple...and also why it is frickin impossible to color match from body shops

i think your car would be clean with a slight orange pearl...i really like orange on any car though so IDK how other people feel about it...but yea keep the stock yellow basecoat and then a orange tinted clearcoat so in some lighting it would look pearly orange....and in other lighting it would just look stock...if you did that you should have your "mustang" sidestripe painted on...also you wouldn't really have to worry about the door jams and engine compartment as the yellow on the exterior would still look mostly factory...just a suggestion...try to find a pic of one of the newer Lambo Murcielago's in the Lambo orange color...i know it is a pearl orange...in some lights it looks yellow and in some light it looks orange...i really LOVE that color....also check out the lambo yellow as it is a pearl also...i think on these cars though the pearl is mixed in with the basecoat but you could still always do another similar color coat on top of the factory yellow basecoat and then clear on top of that

check out this pic of the lambo in the pearl yellow color...see how the pearl just pops right next to the RF headlight?...i think that color would look CLEAN on your car and give it that unique touch to set it apart from the other yellow cars...it would look great if you did that color...painted the sidestripe on in glossy black...and painted the rear valance in glossy black like the roushes...then got your black chrome rims...oh yea...that car would be HOT
