Smell?
Bought my mustang from a guy who lived on a cattle farm out in the middle of BFE. anyway to say the least after being stored in the barn for 13 years, the interior has a quite unpleasant smell. I've tried a few things but still am unable to get the smell out, any suggestions? thanks.
No kiddin' here. Get a coffee can, put about 6 charcoal brickets in it, and let it sit in the car for a few days. Those brickets will absorb the odor. Then follow up with "car new" spray. (Autozone, Pepboys, Bumper-to-Bumper). Spray it directly on your carpet.
That should do the trick.

There's is an air sanitizer that AutoZone carries, called Ozium. That stuff is used everywhere, even in hospitals do deorodize. Pick some up, spray it on your seats, if fabric, carpets, under your seats, and spray it on your headliner. Then take it, and spray it in all your air vents, and through the HVAC ventilation system, while the air is on. There are foam pads in your air vents, that will absord whatever you choose to spray in them. Close up the car for a few minutes and let everything circulate through. After everything has setteled, get some febreeze (has a nice light scent) and repeat the whole process. I've used Ozium on several cars with bad odors and it helps a lot, it's a product I highly reccommend.
this is actually the link i meant.
No need for a gallon of it!

Just another trick I used to use before the Febreeze craze. In a new-used car that smelled of smoke or other foul smells, I used to COAT the entire carpet, headliner, seats (if cloth) and any other fabrics with WINDEX. Sounds strange, but I found that Windex actually eats the odors, and leaves a pleasant cleaning/chemical odor in the car
I would imagine Febreeze would do the same thing.

i would get a good carpet cleaner and scrub the **** out of it. Do the same to hte seats, use armorall on all of the plastic, use everything that was stated above and then insert this little air freshener capsule thing. I have one in my car and everytime somebody gets in they complement on the smell. It is about 2 inches in diameter (round) about an inch tall and has little slits revealing a hard gel that gives off the odor. All you have to do is place it under a seat of something, in your case I would get a couple. I think i got it at pep boys and the flavor is jasmine.
