Default Peeling Clear Coat

I am starting to have a problem with the clear coat starting to peel, on my passenger door. What can I do to remedy this? I am envsioning a whole new paint job. My car is a 2001 Laser Red GT in excellent condition. I would appreciate professional input here if there are any paint pros out there.

My '90 5.0 did the same thing except on the driver door. I got a lot of wacky solutions from people, like put floor wax for wood floors on it, (I didn't try that, sounded hincky to me) I ended up just keeping it well polished and waxed, made it barely noticable, your gonna have to repaint, but one paint guy told me that they can just rough up the clear coat and shoot it again not the whole process as long as your red paint is in good shape. I think he quoted me a couple hundred $ or something. I sold the car before I ever got it fixed though

Thanks for the input...that's the best scenerio that I can hope for...If the clear can be fixed now's the time to do it. The red is in excellent condition. I know a guy that did a custom paint job on my old Bronco II, I guess I need to give him a call. I'd like to do a nice custom job on my GT but don't want to pay for one at this point in time.
