back to black
mmk
so my car was broken into a while back (i know) and to get the window down the crooks popped and dented the weather stripping it sits on. i just recently got that replaced, but damnit, now that one piece is darker than the others.
any ideas on how to get the other ones "back to black" ive tried washing thoroughly, and i dont really want to buy TWI just for the stripping.
thanks

Mothers makes an excellent product called, coincidentally, Back-to-Black -- it works on all colors of plastic or specially coated trim better than anything I've tried.
Depending on how far gone it is, you might need a couple of coats. I usually like to apply as well as remove with an old piece of terry, because if you've got badly oxidized trim, you'll probably just want to throw away the applicator. Before it dries completely on the final coat, buff lightly with either a microfiber or soft terry cotton rag. If you apply too much and you don't buff, it'll run during the next rain.
Don't bother with the Turtle Wax Ice for trim -- you'll be sadly disappointed. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt to prove it. I'd say Ice might be fine for the guys with new cars, but us guys with older rides need a little more TLC than Ice is capable of giving, as it did absolutely nothing for my '98.

Every day? Wow. You could probably get by with a light dressing, but if that works, I'm not going to argue as it sure looks good.
Hard to tell in the picture, but it looks like your wiper arms could use some. It actually works really good -- though it doesn't replace paint, it'll make that faded black coating on the arms and blades look much better. I usually use a spray periodically, and do the Back-to-Black before I wax.
oh not everyday man
daily i mean like once a month - if that.
the shine really lasts a long time. my dash was pretty faded and it takes a couple coats to get it as black as mine.
yes it does work on trim pieces like the whiper blades i just never used it on 'em.
stuff is like $6 a bottle so its not that cheap but its worth it
even tho it shines really well in the sunlight i love how it looks at night. the stuff really sticks to the dash well because of the grooves. i use it on my doors but it dosnt stick that well.
