Default Wax Every Week ???

I was just wondering. Every Saturday I dedicate my morning to my car. For the past month I wash, wax, detail the interior and clean up the motor bay. I was wondering, is it OK to wax my car every weekend? I just use the Quik Detailer spray on wax.... Im about to wash it in like 20 mintues so if someone could answer me within that time it would be great! Thanks alot!

waxing a car only benfits it because it forms a seal over the clearcoat. To be honest, you are wasting some of your time because wax cannot bond to another layer of wax. so by adding wax every week, itlll simply wipe off. a good wax takes 2-3 weeks in moderate weather to dissapate. so waxing your car only shows benefits it....be sure its not compound polish...thats strips some clearcoat

Many traditional wax products can be layered on top of each other -- in other words, they can indeed build up. However, the rule is generally two or maybe three layers maximum -- sometimes just to assure even coverage. Most people won't go beyond one layer, I would imagine.

A spray wax every week or every other week, especially after a wash, would be fine. Check with the manufacturer recommendations to be sure, as it can vary by manufacturer. If any recommendation is made, it's probably after every wash. Spray waxes are popular because it will help keep a fresh lustre on the vehicle until the time a cleaner is needed due to prolonged environmental exposure.

personally every 2 or 3 weeks I wash my stang with Meguiars NXT Car Wash and then (A detailer told me this) apply Meguiars Cleaner Wax let it dry remove it and then apply Meguiars NXT Wax and that works great when I get a chance to clean my car up and wax it I'll take pics of it (We have water restrictions because of drought and washing your car is off limits otherwise you get fines)

I wax almost every time I wash, at least I try to if I have the time (once a month, not once a week.) I use a product called Liquid Glass, and multiple coats are recommended. I find that applying additional coats of the LG pulls out the flaws in the original coat caused by water spots, bird crap, tree sap etc. that would otherwise have to be removed with a clay bar or a solvent of some kind.

I hand wax my car with Turtle Wax about once every 1-2 months. Takes a good 3 hours, but makes it look amazing. The pic of my car in my sig is right after I cleaned it and waxed it.
