Tire fitment
I just did a 5 lug cobra brake conversion on my 90 lx .I am running polished 17x9 cobra r rims with 245/45 front and 275/40 rear tires. My car had bbk drop springs in it when i bought it but now with the 17 inch rims the front tires hit the fenders over bumps and braking.I tried intrax springs cause I got them wicked cheap and they still sit as low as the bbk springs.I can not even slide my hand in between the fender and tire.My question is does anyone know if I spend the money on the eibach pro kit or steeda sport springs will my tires clear or should I just go back to stock springs. Also I put the steeda x2 ball joints in with the 5 lug conversion if that makes a differance.
Call Steeda and ask them, cause I have a 90 but it's a GT, they said I would be able to fit 17x9 up front wrapped in 245s and not touch with their springs. --- I still haven't gotten an answer on the "if I went coil-over " .... call em up ....only way to find out.,
If you go coil-over the fitment answer depends on how low you drop it.
I haven't a clue what springs or even how much of a drop I've got on my 91 GT, so I attempted to play it safe with 225/45zr17 up front and 245/45zr17 in the back. Hopefully they won't rub much. Unfortunately the wheels/tires are sitting in my garage and the car is sitting at the shop sans motor. Oh well.
