Default question for convertible owners

Does anyone know if it's ok / safe to take a convertible GT through a touchless car wash?

How about the 60 second blower / dry cycle?

Thanks for any info!

I did it once and found out my top leaks under high pressure, will not do it again, I do not think it will hurt anything on your car but I would not reccomend it.

I was afraid of that too.

I had a 93 Bronco (full size) and in the car wash, a few drops would squirt through the gasket under the fiberglass top. But it never leaked in the rain!

Yeah it kind of sucks, I get tired of hand washing my car all the time, but hand washing is the best anyways. The high pressure just smears the dirt around IMO.

once or twice wont hurt it in a pinch but if repeated you will end up with leaks around the rear window that put nice little fishpins in your rear floorboard, I just had a new top put on mine due to the damage caused by repeated laser washing.

It was a very bad idea when my step-brother decided to suprise me by taking my car through one when he borrowed it. But my car will leak through the seal between the windsheald and the top at high spead (80+)
