good and cheap way to clean your headlights is to wipe them with some brake fluid be careful not to get it on your paint. it may take a couple of times but you may have some in your garage and it really works

There is a kit called 5 Minute Optical Polish. It is 6 one time use pads and a pad holder that attaches to a cordless drill. I got it at Advance auto parts. There are no chemicals to use just put the pad holder in your drill attach a pad (peel and stick) and "buff" the lens clean. Cost me 10 bucks and it is well worth it. It comes with enough to do your headlights 3x. Be shure to mask off the surrounding painted areas.

I made the istake of buying a new headlight for my 96 Cobra and found this stuff while waiting for it to ship. Now I have to return the lights and pay shipping and restocking fee.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...the writeups that have been done on this should be stickied.

Check this thread, and the link I posted in it.

Mothers Plastic Polish on a PowerBall Mini is my favorite fix for exterior polishing of lenses. Works great on foglights, too, and the leaves a nice protective coating.

The PowerBall (either size) is great to have in your detail kit for other specialty polishing of metals or plastics... they are often on sale at the major retailers.

I bought a can of Aluminum polish from Eagle One. It is basically just a wad of cotton with an abrasive polish in it. Buff them good with that and then I used a plastic polish. I turned a set of headlights on a 92 MX3 from so dark yellow that you cant see the bulb to almost as clear as new. Took a few tries, but worked well. If you were really careful and wanted to spend the time, bake the lights to remove the lens and buff both sides. Just be careful doing that.

I used Headlight Restoration Service ( hrslights.com ) to have my headlights restored. The price was the best i could find, quick turn around time, and they were easy to work with. Check them out. I hope this helps.
