Default PC problems....

I am getting to the point where I am seriously angry at the results I am getting with my PC. I only hear good feedback so it has to be my technique. This is like the 3rd time I have tried to remove the swirls out of my 2000 white GT. I am using products from Adamspolishes.com which are very quality and are suppose to be some of the best out there.

I used the recommended orange cutting pad with there swirl remover, followed by the white pad used with there fine machine polish, followed by there grey waxing pad with Slick wax made for show cars.

I did the entire hood, and it took me roughly 2 hours. My process is: put 6-7 small dabs of polish on the pad, spread the polish onto roughly 2-3 foot section of the hood, turn polisher on using a front/back &/or side to side motion, going slowly and putting prob 20 lbs or pressure on the polisher then I work it until it is nearly gone and then I wipe clean with a yellow microfiber towel.

I just dont get the results. I pulled the car out into the sun and I immediately still saw quite a few swirl marks and the paint was not clear like it should have been. It seems to be hazed over or something. I will try to get pictures up if I can find a camera.

I am in need of some responses and answers hopefully. I really want to get my paint looking perfect with no imperfections and from what I have learned, it is possible. Just nto for me for some reason.

Thanks in advance,
---

when you use it are you just going in small 2' square areas?

is the haze something that you can wipe off as though its a residue? or is it more like the polish has a slight abrasive and you just arent pulling the shine back out?

im not familiar with those products so im not sure if the polish is a cleanin polish or something with a slight abrasive almost like a fine cut cleaner.

if its dull due to an abrasive youll have to work it a little more with with something similar to a non abrasive polish and a glaze (similar to meg's #3 if i remember correctly)

personally, with my black car, i use a mix of wolfgang and pinnacle products end up with great results.

so to sound like a broken record i think your polish has an abrasive in it and you just arent getting the shine pulled back out.

not that its your technique or the PC itself

edit:

also the best test for shine, swirls, water spots etc are flourescent lights. If you can make a car look good under flourescent lights, it will look even better out in the sun.

IDK I think its gotta be my technique. I feel like I am putting quite a bit of pressure on the polisher. I would say that I start from lets say right above the hood scoop in between there and the cowl, and work my way down rather slowly, to just even with the hood scoop where I am still polishing the center peace of the hood, not going down to the next level of the hood yet.

It probably takes me like 3 minutes to go down and back up. So I get I make 2 passes....1 down and I follow my path back to the place I started, usually in a different motion (ex. if I went front to back on the way down, I will go side to side on the way back up).
